André Munkelt

André Munkelt is a Managing Director and since 2024 the Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Management Boards of Morgan Stanley Europe SE and Morgan Stanley Bank AG. He also serves as a board member of Morgan Stanley International Limited. André joined the Management Boards in February 2019 as Chief Risk Officer (CRO), overseeing the Group’s risk management function. Prior to his appointment as CRO, André held several leadership positions within the Firm, including EMEA Head of Counterparty Credit Risk and Deputy EMEA Head of Credit Risk Management, both based in London. André began his career at Morgan Stanley in 2006 in Credit Risk Management in London, where he was responsible for credit analysis and managing credit risk exposure to financial institutions. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, he worked in the Financial Services division of PricewaterhouseCoopers AG WPG in Germany. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Banking and Finance from the University of Cooperative Education Dresden and has been a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) since 2008. André is married and has two children.








